13th annual World Ocean Summit

Montréal, Canada

This year’s 13th annual World Ocean Summit, 4th – 5th March in Montréal, Canada, comes at a turning point: the High Seas Biodiversity Treaty (BBNJ) has been ratified, the WTO Fisheries Subsidies Agreement is going to reshape seafood supply chains, and new science study led on by PML warns we have breached the planetary boundary on ocean acidification. At the same time, major philanthropic and financial investments are flowing into the ocean economy. The question the summit organiser’s pose is no longer why act, but how.

2nd Ocean Carbon from Space Workshop: In-person

The 2nd Ocean Carbon from Space workshop will support progress towards an integrated approach for characterising the ocean carbon cycle using satellite observations and will advance our understanding of its variability across space and time. Outcomes will provide insight into how satellite observations can inform ocean carbon assessments in the Earth System in a climate context, support the evaluation and improvement of climate models, and provide advice and guidance to high-level policy activities. This workshop is organised in the frame of the ESA SCOPE Project.

International Ocean Colour Science Meeting 2025

The sixth International Ocean Colour Science (IOCS) meeting will be convened by the International Ocean Colour Coordinating Group (IOCCG) hosted by The European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), and the European Space Agency (ESA), with the support of the Copernicus Programme from the European Commission from 1-4 December 2025 at the Darmstadtium in Darmstadt, Germany.
