Professor Tim Jickells

PML Trustee awarded OBE


PML Trustee, Professor Tim Jickells, has been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours List.

Prof Jickells has had a long association with PML through his role as a member of PML’s Science Advisory Council, and became a Trustee in 2014.

He has also been connected to PML through his former research activities at the University of East Anglia, where he taught for 30 years and is now an Emeritus Professor, as well as his work while he was the Natural Environment Research Council’s Theme Leader for Earth System Science.

Prof Jickells is a fellow of the American Geophysical Union, a member of the Defra Science Advisory Council and was appointed by the Secretary of State as a member of the Broads Authority.

PML Chief Executive, Professor Icarus Allen, said: “I would like to offer congratulations from everyone at PML to Professor Jickells on this well-deserved recognition of his excellent work and service to marine and environmental sciences.”

Dr Tony Stebbing, BSc (Hons), PhD - In Memoriam

Dr Anthony (Tony) Stebbing sadly passed away on the 2nd May from Covid-19 following a prolonged illness. Tony was aged 78 years and is survived by his wife Valerie.
