Giovanni is a Marine Ecosystem Modeller at PML since September 2018, his main research focus at PML is using and developing 3D coupled physics-biogeochemistry ocean models to study biogeochemical cycles and assess the potential impacts of climate change scenarios on marine plankton ecosystems.
Prior to joining PML, Giovanni worked at the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics (OGS, Trieste, Italy). There he modelled Mediterranean corals and other benthic organisms response to climate change and biogeochemistry, and also worked with Mediterranean biogeochemistry and on the impacts of heat waves on marine organisms.
