I graduated from Bournemouth University in 2015 with a BSc Applied Geography degree. I was particularly interested in carbon reduction including sustainable buildings and transport, and worked as a Carbon Management Officer at the Borough of Poole Council for 2 years during my studies. Once graduated, I joined the Plymouth College of Art as an Assistant Facilities Manager to predominately oversee the energy and sustainability of the College. Later, I was promoted to Facilities Manager overseeing the daily operations of maintenance, security, contracts and cleaning.
Marine Conservation and Biodiversity were also areas of my degree which I have always had a particular interest in and PML presented the opportunity to revisit this. As Buildings & Facilities Manager I will be responsible for our buildings and services, ensuring they meet the needs for cutting edge scientific research. I also hold a NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and will be accountable for the safe delivery of services across PML’s estate.
