Director of Operations Beverly Tremain commented: “We were delighted to take home the Planet Saver award. As an environmental organisation, not only are we delivering science in support of a healthy and sustainable ocean, we also have a strong commitment to reduce our own environmental impact.”

Head of Estates and Facilities Lee Merchant added: “Our sustainability has grown from strength to strength in recent years, from the installation of a solar carport that generates electricity to support our vital work at the laboratory – and which saves 65 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year, to applying the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF)  to improve sustainability measures within laboratories.”

“We’re proud to see our sustainability recognised in the Devon and Plymouth Chamber Awards, and we look forward to updating you with our latest sustainability measures at the laboratory very soon - there is always more we can do!”
