In November 2024, PML will be in Xiamen for the 8th East Asian Seas Congress (EASC), themed ‘Blue Synergy for a Shared Future: One Sustainable and Resilient Ocean’.
The EASC serves as a key platform for showcasing the innovation and application achievements in the EAS region, strengthening the solidarity and cooperation among the countries, while promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Strategy for the Seas of East Asia (SDS-SEA).
The Congress, in collaboration with World Ocean Week in Xiamen, is co-hosted by PEMSEA, the Ministry of Natural Resources of China and the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government.
PML is a PEMSEA Non-Country Partner and proud to once again take part in their Congress. PML’s Chief Executive Professor Icarus Allen will be providing a keynote speech in the plenary focusing on ‘Innovation and Digitizing Ocean Action’ and Deputy Head of the International Office, Thecla Keizer, will give a presentation in a virtual session workshop ‘From EEZs to the High Seas: Leveraging the ocean-climate-biodiversity nexus in accelerating the implementation of ocean-climate action’.
