I graduated from Bournemouth University in 2015 with a BSc Applied Geography degree. I was particularly interested in carbon reduction including sustainable buildings and transport, and originally started my career as a Carbon Management Officer for a council. This role naturally overlapped with building services and put me onto a path of becoming a Facilities Manager with wider responsibilities including energy management, building maintenance, service contracts, security, and cleaning.
Marine Conservation and Biodiversity were also areas of my degree which I’ve always had a particular interest in and PML presented the opportunity to revisit this. In my current role, I’m responsible for PML’s buildings, grounds, and services, ensuring they meet the needs for cutting edge scientific research. I also hold a NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and have additional positions of Operations Health & Safety Advisor and Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS).
