We are excited to share the launch of the COP30 Virtual Ocean Pavilion, a free to access online platform available 3-21 November 2025 dedicated to raising the visibility of the ocean and showcasing why the ocean matters in climate negotiations and to all life on our planet. Registration is open to all.
Highlights include a great selection of live and on-demand events, exhibits, key messages, roundtable discussions, interviews with ocean-climate experts, a Treasure Trove of ocean-related information, art and other media, a searchable overview of COP30 ocean events, and more!
This year we have also expanded our offerings to include even more events and materials and an emphasis on engaging youth ocean and climate actors. We are excited to partner with several youth-focused organizations to provide a live lesson for school age children and expanded youth-led interviews with experts and negotiators.
If you are organizing events related to the ocean at or around COP30, please do let us know via this form. We will make sure to highlight this in the COP30 Ocean Events overview available from the pavilion.
Building on the momentum of past Virtual Ocean Pavilions (COP26, COP27, COP28, COP29) the COP30 Virtual Ocean Pavilion will:
The pavilion aims to democratize the ocean at COPs and promote unity and inclusivity, whilst increasing knowledge, commitment, and action for the ocean-climate nexus at key events during the UN Climate Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil, 03-21 November 2025. It is also a key tool in increasing transparency and equitable access to climate discussions and information, and as such, has been endorsed as a UN Ocean Decade activity. To aid this process you can find an overview of the ocean events taking place at the COP30 as part of the pavilion with livestreaming links where available.
Now in its fifth year running the Pavilion is co-organized by the Global Ocean Forum, Plymouth Marine Laboratory and Ocean Generation with further collaborating partners from across the globe. The diversity of organizers and collaborating partners ensures a wide range of perspectives on ocean and climate issues and provides opportunities for forging cross-sectoral cooperation and collaboration on ocean-climate action at the national, regional, and global levels.
Contact the COP30 Virtual Ocean Pavilion Team (Miriam Balgos, Thecla Keizer, Catie Mitchell) for more information on how to become involved.
