"I have always been fascinated with marine science, but I find that I am most effective at being able to bring structure to complex projects and ensuring teams can work well together. I am excited to add to this by contributing to PMLs Impact strategy, and ensuring we are maximising the impact of PMLs innovative science tackling global challenges. "
Lianne Jackson joined PML in August 2025 after 4 years of working across government within Defra and Cefas managing marine projects within EU Horizon and international UK government-funded initiatives including the Blue Belt Programme.
Currently Lianne is managing various ESA Earth Observation projects; PlanktoSpace, Phytodiverse, COOL, SupaCOOL and Phyto-CCI. Alongside managing EQUIFy, a NERC funded project under the ECOFlow programme, to quantify the ecological, social and economic impacts of future floating offshore wind farms.
Lianne has a strong track record of coordinating multi-partner consortia, aligning scientific outputs with strategic programme goals, and leading stakeholder engagement across sectors. Her background in applied marine science, combined with her expertise in project planning, contract management, and impact reporting, enables her to translate complex evidence into meaningful environmental outcomes.
