PML’s infamous Coccolithophore costume will be on show at the festival, to educate the younger generation about these marvellous microscopic plankton – that form the base of the marine food web and are essential contributors to global carbon cycling and marine ecosystems.

Image: The Coccolithophore dress was created by 2nd year students from the Arts University Plymouth, made with recycled polymer and sourced fabrics. Costume design by Jacqueline Ball.

In addition, PML’s Dr Peter Miller will be taking on the role of ‘Dr Satellite’ at the festival, sharing his science from the skies using satellite data to monitor the health of the Ocean.
