PML’s Professor Kerry Howell is speaking in multiple sessions during the 2026 All-Atlantic Ocean Research and Innovation Alliance Forum, held in Salvador, Brazil from 14th – 16th April.

Event description:
The Forum is the Alliance’s flagship annual gathering, bringing together the Atlantic Community. The Forum aims to showcase AAORIA’s scientific coordination in addressing ocean challenges. Building on the success of the previous Forums, the 2026 gathering will advance the All-Atlantic Declaration through ocean science international cooperation, and collaborative action. It is hosted by the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and SENAI CIMATEC, where the event will take place. It is also supported by the OKEANO Coordination and Support Action (CSA).
About Prof Howell:
Professor Kerry Howell is a leading expert in deep-sea ecology at the University of Plymouth and Plymouth Marine Laboratory. She is co-lead of the Challenger 150 Programme, and has dedicated her career to the conservation and sustainable management of deep-sea ecosystems through over two decades of global research.
