Natural History Museum – Oslo, Norway I 24th – 26th September
PML’s Claire Widdicombe and Bryony Pearton will be attending the upcoming ICES-IOC Workshop on automated plankton analysis using imaging in flow methods. The workshop, hosted by the University of Oslo and the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA), provides a valuable opportunity to learn from others in the sector developing automated plankton analysis, such as PML’s Automated, in situ Plankton Imaging and Classification System (APICS).
‘The main aims of the workshop are to share experiences of using automated plankton imaging methods for observing harmful algae in near real time and to train new users on the technology. This includes discussing practical aspects of operating automated imaging systems such as the Imaging FlowCytoBot and applying novel AI-based methods for automated recognition of plankton in images acquired.’
