Alex Snowball

Alex Snowball is a Marine Maintenance Engineer at PML Applications, where he provides practical support as part of the delivery team. In his role, he maintains existing structures and equipment, develops new operational mechanics, facilitates and commissions new equipment, and assists with data collection across all four of PML Applications’ Centres of Excellence.

Alex’s varied background allows him to combine experience in science, design and engineering. His experience comes from a career in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary as a Marine Engineer, where he developed engineering skills and hands-on experience over seven years. During this time, he developed knowledge of engineering principles as well as skills in maintenance and teamwork.

Alex studied Environmental Management at Duchy College, where he gained a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting the environment. This was followed by a degree in Fashion Design at Plymouth College of Art, where Alex developed skills in design, materials, manufacturing, and problem-solving.

Alex is passionate about PML Applications’ values of ocean sustainability and reducing negative environmental impact.

Alex’s love of the marine environment is inspired by his Mum, who enjoys the beach. In his spare time, Alex likes to spend time with his partner and dog.
