"I am passionate about exploring how AI can solve real-world problems that matter. I enjoy working at the intersection of technology and science, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to translate cutting-edge deep learning research into meaningful, tangible impact. "
Shailza Sharma works as a Computer Vision AI Data Scientist in the Environmental Intelligence Group at PML. She brings expertise in generative modelling, deep learning, computer vision, and satellite image analysis. She holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on generative modelling architectures for computer vision.
Her work spans real-world environmental and geospatial applications, including volcanic deformation forecasting from InSAR satellite data and terrain map reconstruction, developed during her time as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds. At PML, she is developing AI-based deep learning models to analyse and interpret underwater imagery, supporting marine science, ecosystem understanding, and biodiversity monitoring. Her broader research interests include Vision Transformers, diffusion models, GANs, and spatio-temporal modelling.
